Situated just outside of Boone, NC in the beautiful Appalachian Mountains, BPM Strings is a full service shop for orchestral string instruments (violin, viola, 'cello and double bass), run by luthier Benjamin McPherron. We strive to provide the highest level of quality and craftsmanship using the traditional materials and techniques in a tradition that reaches back to the ancient European Masters.

Benjamin McPherron
Luthier
Benjamin McPherron is the owner and proprietor of BPM Strings. Benjamin began his journey as a luthier under the tutelage of Alfred Michels of Creston, NC, who was a student of Rudolf Elbin of Bonn, Germany. After learning from and working for Mr Michels for eight years, Benjamin started BPM Strings. Benjamin is also jazz bassist and regularly performs around the high country.
